Thank You to Our Sponsors:

Over the past six months, VOICES members have engaged in a creative and deeply personal exercise to explore the impact of the school-to-prison pipeline. Through photography, participants responded to thought-provoking questions: How does the school-to-prison pipeline shape your success? and What does a safe and supportive school environment look like to you? This practice encouraged vulnerability and sparked meaningful conversations about how each of us has been impacted by the pipeline. Some recurring themes emerged from the shared presentations:

  • School Environment Matters
  • Schools Create Workers, Not Thinkers
  • The Importance of Freedom of Expression
  • And a powerful metaphor from one member: “A lot of kids are like roses growing through concrete.”

We are excited to have VOICES members joining us in person on May 16th to share their photos and discuss their responses with all of our guests.  Please peruse this first time art installation during cocktail hour and dessert in the foyer and adjoining Rogers/Stratton rooms.
